Aura Guignard! The story behind the clothes.

Hi everyone, may I introduce myself?
My name is Orathai Guignard, and I’m an independent lagenlook fashion designer behind the brand Aura Guignard.

An Unexpected Beginning

My journey into sewing began quite unexpectedly.
I graduated in Industrial Product Design from Rajamangala University of Technology Isan and later earned a Bachelor’s degree from Phranakhon Rajabhat University. However, I never truly worked as a product designer 😅 life had other plans for me!

For more than ten years, I worked as an interior designer in Bangkok, until life brought me to Switzerland. One simple moment changed everything: I repaired a friend’s torn pants, and that little act quietly opened the door to a new passion.

How Lagenlook Found Me

Soon after, my lovely mother-in-law noticed me sewing. She mentioned how difficult it was to find clothes that truly fit her. She adores the lagenlook style but prefers it without excessive frills or ruffles. Because of this, I began exploring structure, silhouette, and the beauty of simple shapes. It was both challenging and exciting, and it revealed a new way for me to express creativity through form.

Learning, Growing, and Becoming a Designer

I’m deeply grateful to my universities for teaching me to think differently, embrace creativity, and stay true to my individuality.
Most nights, you’d find me researching sewing techniques, pattern drafting, and garment construction. Each discovery drew me deeper into the beautiful world of fashion.

Today, as a designer, I feel passionate about transforming imagination into fabric and form. This dedication became the heart of Aura Atelier de Couture, a place where every piece carries a small part of my story.
