Sometimes, inspiration blossoms from the people closest to us.
After I made the Ladybug Sarouel for my lovely mother-in-law, she came to me with another wish—
“Could you make lantern-leg pants with big pockets? I want to keep little bells inside so they’ll jingle when I walk!”

I sketched a few ideas,
but no matter how I adjusted the shape, everything still looked a little too ordinary for her.
So I asked myself…
What design would feel truly special?
Something charming, lively, and filled with quiet elegance.

And then, the answer surfaced—
like a flower rising gently above the water:

Lotus petals.

I shaped the pockets to look like lotus petals unfurling,
soft curves with a sense of movement and natural beauty.
And this is why these trousers are called
Lotus Pants—a piece born from love, intention, and a touch of graceful uniqueness.

With their signature lantern silhouette and flowing lotus-petal pockets,
these trousers offer comfort, playfulness, and the expressive lagenlook spirit that moves beautifully with every step.

Please note: The design template does not include multiple sizes on the same sheet. To print correctly, please refer to the table of contents and select the appropriate print pages.

Little bit of experience.

Material:

1. Woven fabric suitable for making pants, with a weight range of 140-280 g/m² and a width of 55″ or 1.4 m.
   The length of fabric required can be found in the measurements chart.
2. Use thread in a matching color.
3. For the waistband, use elastic measuring 3 cm or 1 ³/₁₆ inches in width, which should be cut to a length 3 inches shorter than the waist size. For larger sizes, it may be necessary to cut the elastic to a length of up to 5 inches shorter than the waist size.

PS. To check the fit, wrap the elastic around your waist and secure the end. The waistband should not be overly loose.

Sizes:

• Lotus pants with elasticated waist has 8 sizes XS to 4XL.
• The hip circumference of the finished garment is from 100 to 170 cm or around 39” to 67”. See the Measurements chart.

*Elastic waist range is the full-length stretch. It could be a bit smaller than your hip size. You can try it with the measuring tape.
