Spiral Flower PDF digital sewing pattern with sewing tutorial

An unexpected flower bloomed out of nowhere after spending time trying to make one from a tutorial. When I realized even though I am usually very patient, I was getting upset with my failure. In the end, I decided to improvise and create mine: Here comes the Spiral flower. The flowers that you can apply to the garment you love.
🌸 Spiral Flower
Many people enjoy sewing fabric flowers, and I’m certainly one of them!
One quiet morning, I set out to make a round-petal flower from a book tutorial. However, after hours of stitching and unpicking, nothing looked the way I had imagined, and I eventually had to admit that this method simply wasn’t working. Instead of throwing the fabric away, I paused and asked myself what else it could become. When I picked it up and twisted it gently, a completely new shape began to appear. As a result, that small movement became the very first Spiral Flower—born from fabric that had been sewn, unsewn, and nearly torn apart, yet still wanted to become something lovely.
Later, I imagined how wonderful it would be to turn this idea into a flower pocket without sewing dozens of tiny petals. So I recycled an old pair of jeans and made one as a small reward for myself.
Today, you can find the Spiral Flower in several of my designs, such as the Gabriella top, where it becomes a playful pocket full of texture and movement.
Of course, you can also use it in your own handmade pieces—as a pocket, an appliqué, or a sweet detail that adds a touch of whimsy to the clothes you love.
